Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Arcade Buffalo games on the App Store and Google Play (Glyphstack, Sasquatch Slopes, Novagon, Owlympus, Gambit Grid and Neon Cat Lounge) and this website, arcadebuffalo.com. Arcade Buffalo LLC, an indie game studio in Austin, Texas, makes them.

Our games

  • No accounts and no personal information. The games don't send us anything about you.
  • Your progress stays on your device. Levels, scores and settings are saved only on your phone or tablet. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. The current versions have no advertising, analytics or tracking code and no in-app purchases. If that changes, we'll update this policy before the update ships, and say what is collected and by whom.
  • No device permissions. The games don't ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
  • Apple and Google. The App Store and Google Play run under their own privacy policies. If you've agreed in your device settings to share diagnostics with app developers, they may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. We use those only to fix bugs.
  • Beta testing. If you join a test through TestFlight or Google Play, we see the email address you were invited with and any feedback you choose to send. We use them only to run the test.

Gambit Grid online play (Lichess)

Online play in Gambit Grid is optional. It uses lichess.org, a free chess server run by a separate organization.

  • You sign in on Lichess's own page, so we never see your password.
  • Lichess gives the app an access token. The token and your Lichess username are stored only on your device.
  • Your moves, game requests and challenges go straight from your device to lichess.org. They never pass through our servers, and we don't keep a copy.
  • Lichess handles that data under the Lichess privacy policy.
  • Sign out in the app to delete the token from your device. You can also revoke the app's access in your Lichess account settings.

This website

We collect only your email address, and only if you enter it in the playtester form. There are no analytics, ad trackers or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may use essential security cookies to keep bots out.

We use your email to contact you about playtests, with your consent. We never sell it or share it for marketing. The service providers that host this site and deliver our email handle it only on our behalf.

To remove your email, use the removal form or email us. We'll delete it within 30 days.

Children

Our games are made for a general audience and don't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Online play in Gambit Grid needs a Lichess account, which follows Lichess's own rules. The playtester form on this site isn't meant for children under 13. If you think a child has sent us their email, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. For the games, the answer is nothing beyond what's described above. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also contact your local data protection authority.

Changes

When this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
